I am maybe depends if i can sell mine at a good price or not

I know looks wise they are almost the same and to a non P-Car fanboy they will think it is the same car. I would go for manual but the .2 build i am doing is specced less than my current .1

Let us see what happens ...

I am happy with the 991 GT3.
But I do have an order in for a GT3 .2RS if there is one.

I love my GT3 15. It has a new G engine that runs great and also has CPO, but when I read that the .2 has the RSR motor, I had to have it. Love Guards Red... and adding all the red accents like my current GT3.

I respect all opinions of course but I find some of the responses fascinating. I view the HP, torque and racing pedigree engine a big step forward. I also think the styling changes are fairly significant and and an evolution - I thin the whole package looks a lot more serious!
Don't want to be a Douche, but I'm honestly surprised to learn that many of those that currently own a 991 GT3 are focused on the +/-$12k delta! I appreciate there's also depreciation involved but me thinks many who are rationalizing a "pass" will soon regret it....
Just my opinion however!

I am not going to speak for everyone, but I think the delta could be a lot more than that. Probably more like $40k to $50k. And the .2 isn't worth that much more to me. I drive my cars, so they won't be appreciating. I just prefer to wait out the .2 and then see what happens with the .2 RS, 992, etc. It just seems way too soon to consider upgrading, as I have had my car for only 1 year. But that doesn't mean the .2 won't be awesome, or that I might not eventually get one. Just too soon for me to pull the trigger.

Yes true it would be a no brainer to upgrade if the delta was just $13K or even $20k. But for me when taking in to account the 991.1 depreciation in my market the delta would actually be $50K even assuming a modest build that I would get on the .2. That's something to think about.

I hear you. I guess when I consider by the time I get the .2 it will have been 3 years that I've owned it and enjoyed it and that total delta seems reasonable to me over that period of time (+/-$15k per year).

I plan to change and order it the way I want it. I bought my .1 used to see if I like it coming from a GT2 so it is not configured ideal to my liking.

I would be inclined to switch if the cost of doing so makes sense. IMO .1 has better styling while .2 has what COULD turn out be a better engine. So if for a reasonable amount I can switch I may do so. MY .1 is configured the way I wanted it. The only item I don't have that I would like is the black LEDs (not available when my allocation locked in Sept 2014). I guess I would look at to the cost of extending the warranty as a comparison marker to the cost of switching. IMHO The amount in excess beyond extending the warranty would be the net cost of switching.

The best delta i can get is $35k and that is it i am luck it is really looking between $50k to $60k depending on configuration

I also have owner my car for only 13 months and this is why the decision is very difficult for me. If the delta was $20-30k i would have placed the order long ago

Also where i live the car can be under warranty until 2024 so keeping it is not going to be a big cost. I really want the manual and new engine etc etc that comes with the .2 but the mature thing would be to look into a .2 RS when it comes (might be way out of my budget) or just wait for .1 992 Gt3. I am 90 percent sure the 992.1 will use same engine as .2 991 gt3 but with a 20-25 hp bump the only thing is the engine might be further forward.

Again if i can bring the delta way down then i will jump on it but the delta at where it is now just makes it difficult to pull the trigger with such a great machine

I voted "no" in the poll. Original owner of my 2014 car. 5 year warranty plus I bought 2 more years, so 7 years of warranty until 2021. Wanted the PDK in a GT3 from the very beginning, and I love it on the streets and on the track. I have another car (BMW) to enjoy a manual transmission in.

It's funny, but when the 991.2 GT3 was announced with its new engine (the only REAL change, IMO), the question of whether I should try to upgrade did come into my mind. What did I do? I took my GT3 out for a 70+ km highway run in Toronto at night a few times, and I drove it to work a few times too. After those drives, I re-affirmed my love for the car. It's simply a brilliant drive. That wonderful sounding high revving engine, those superfast PDK shifts, and the rock stable cornering "feeling", even with my all season tires (which I use in the winter months) were awesome to experience again after not driving the car for a while in the winter months.

Simply put, the new 991.2 GT3 is not enough of a "step-change" for me to justify the effort/expense of upgrading. Plus I have the comfort of an extended warranty, which I can continue extending going forward if desired.

Your story reminds me of mine actually. At first I was pretty envious of the extra 25HP and other improvements (.2 sounds like it's going to be a great car). I took the car for a drive, mashed the throttle and traction control kicked in both 1st and 2nd gear...then I realized I think the car is already much faster than I am as a driver so I was left more than satisfied with the current engine.

I must admit I've been missing driving manual, so I took my other car (FD) for some drives and after a getting that out of my system in LA traffic, I was also extremely content with how good PDK is.

That left the costs associated with fighting for a .2GT3, which probably includes depreciation for my current car, market price adjustments for the latest and greatest, plus sizeable state tax (13k+), making me realize I'm not rich enough to own the .2 yet.

If I have good fortune, I might shoot for the stars with a .2RS.

I am. I bought my current GT3 used at a premium to get into the game a year and a half ago. This one I'm ordering how I want it and solidifying my relationship with my dealer for the future deals we're bound to work out as well.

Voted yes- I want a GT3 driver, so a manual is a big deal for me. If I tracked it then I would still want it for the better motor and downforce.
