Goodwood festival of speed - who's going?
I'm thinking about going to Goodwood Festival of Speed on my european delivery. Is it worth a long drive for a mere mortal without special access to racers and manufacturers?
Who else is going?

It's definitely worth it. It's harder to find lodging nearby than it is to get tickets. Do you have your tickets yet? Make sure you get on the road early... otherwise it takes 2 to 3 hours to go 30 miles. Roads are a weak point in the area, but that's one of the reasons the area is so charming.
Oh...rain gear.

i´m planing also to be there this year first time.
at the moment i do not have a ticket / tickets. lets see if i could get some.
if not - we should not wait too long to buy: https://ticketing.goodwood.com/Pages...VneUCv0vWPjv0=
i remember last year where in April or so the good tickets where already sold out.

I've only been to Goodwood once and in 2014. It was an incredible experience as a car guy... just unbelievable access to see, touch and sometimes climb into priceless road and race cars from every era while surrounded by thousands of fellow car geeks. And if that's not enough, you get to see and HEAR these incredible machines in motion as they get caned up the hill! None of that requires special access or status either. Definetly a bucket list event!

I convinced my co-pilot that driving mountain passes can be done on another ED, but having ED and Goodwood coincide is rather rare, so I'm definitely going!
I bought tix for the whole weekend. I'm still not sure if I'm going to get there Friday morning and leave Sunday morning or get there Friday evening and leave Monday morning. Leaning towards the latter.
My plan is to drive there from Germany then fly to work in our Euro office for the following week (too far to drive) and then fly back to do Spa and N-ring track days (4 total) the week after that.
Will book hotels and finalize the days later this week.

I was living in London a few years ago and drove down for the day; scalped some tickets at the door. One of the top car events I have been to. I do not recall missing anything requiring VIP credentials; all was open to the public.
