Interesting. How can you tell the temp of the tire? Infrared heat sensor or is there something on the car?

Like Tony, I'm curious about this. Is the temp measured on the external surface? Internally somehow? Probably don't want to poke a meat thermometer in to it.

WELP it is sort of like a meat thermometer!

You use a pyrometer - helpful for really dialing in alignment at a given track.

Here's a quick example:

Great news. Any idea if it will come in GT3 and RS sizes? Wonder if that is why Cup2 inventory is sparse.

Interesting. So he was not referring to the new rubber on the 991.2 GT3? My understanding is that it uses a new N-designation but still Cup2 (faster in dry and better in wet). An even faster DOT tire would be interesting. Maybe to be introduced on the GT2 RS?

^^ I couldn't find them in Amelia.
It would be great to have a little faster tire!

I'm curious, how hot our tires get during highway cruise speeds?

Rob - I am SO HAPPY and IMPRESSED that you are ENJOYING your GT3 on track.

What many don't consider... driving on track is actually much safer than any 'spirited' driving on public roads. AND...you can drive at your own pace! you don't have to go '***** out'.

Thanks Phil! Appreciate that buddy. Can't get the track off my mind. I think i have track fever! Going full **** with this car is so epic. Just got back from a spirited drive. The track ruined me. It just wasn't the same.

My new M3 has tire temp gauges. Even in the hot Fl sun I haven't gotten them even near 170 on the street.

I know exactly what you mean!

I also don't think I'll be doing any competition driving. My career is enough stress and competition. I don't need more competition in my life!

I just want to DRIVE the car up to its upper limits of capabilities...while not worrying about civilian' drivers. Hence the big interest in tracking for me personally.

Don't make it a big deal. Just go and figure it out through trial and error.

Best wishes bud.
