Why don't we make our own super 964 air cooled?

I think it is hard to argue with the 700hp turbo on this one. Can definitely nitpick styling on any car but power is power.

I'm always into getting more power vs more sparkly bits.
I'm sure RUF would change the rear bumper to customer's requests, can't wait till Singer [inevitably] releases a turbo version of their car.

They are making a vehicle in partnership with Williams with super high revving engine.. won't be turbo. The joke is that their rev counter will finally have a raison d'etre

Default Every W09 (factory built) Ruf is bespoke

Meaning that the client selects every detail of the car from paint color to wheels outside and all surface materials inside. Seat choices, second cage (in addition to the IRC), harnesses, radio and on and on. Estonia has built many cars for me and I can tell you that the line item detail can run to three full pages by the time every decision is made.

So, for the 30 2017 CTR's being created (or Yellowbird30 as it's being termed informally), I promise all 30 will be unique from one another.

That should be interesting, big fan of both Singer and RUF.

The interior is so overdone with alcantara it looks cheap. What a shame for an otherwise completely bonkers, beautifully simple interpretation of a 911 on steroids.

We know at least one person on this forum has that capability.

That's a 3-spoke 996 sports steering wheel (=GT3)

Incoming IC cooling air must be extracted somewhere, that's why those slats, at least in bumper corners. What I wonder is the visble lack of front aero bits. Radiators seems to be vented to wheel wells and/or below the car, so how on earth the front is stabilized at 250+ kph??

More questions:
-which turbochargers? RUF claims: Max. Torque: 880 Nm / 649 lb-ft @2.750 – 4000/min
-where's air cleaner(s)?
-non assisted steering? (or electric pump Cup car style...)

Anyway, I want so badly. But will never be able to get one...

^^ cool!

re: 964 references, the original CTR was a G-body. Lots of neat tech in that car, Ruf was the real-deal back then too. Motronic (EFI), twin turbo, 6spd manual, almost 10yrs ahead of Porsche (ignoring the 959 of course).

R&T has a reprint of the original 1987 story on their website -> http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...est-cars-1987/

Fun to re-read now, very influential as a kid & my first exposure to Ruf - who else caught the bug around that time?

The top half is carbon too. They showed the roof / fenders on last year's SCR & Ultimate.
