I still think the .1 looks better, and durability of the new engine remains to be seen, but overall the .2 seems to be meaningfully improved. Values of .1 GT3, RS, and R will certainly take a hit.

I'm not inclined to 'upgrade' from my .1 GT3 any time soon, since I still have a couple of years of warranty, already have a lot of miles on the car, the car is already more than good enough for my needs, and it doesn't really make sense financially. Next step for me will be to try to new generation of Cup 2 tires on my car. But I'll keep an open mind about what to do when my warranty is closer to ending (and, who knows, may wind up getting a replacement engine under warranty before then).

It also appears that the .2 will take the .1 RS on the track. Will be interesting when/if they put them head to head which they will never

What gives you this impression? I haven't seen anything to indicate it will be faster than the RS.

One of them mentioned a magnesium roof though. Is that a thing on the GT3??

+1.
Personally don't like the .2 look but that wouldn't factor in for me.
Pricing is now so close to an RS, as is performance.
For me an RS is an RS but what it has in extra down force it may give up in power. Lap times between the two will come down to the type of track and driver skill.

Seems very little reason to pay the extra for an RS when you can get a .2 GT3 for less. I'll wait for the .2RS.

Its going to be close.
Same weight, but RS still more rubber, more down force.
In theory the same power but the new 4.0 will give a little more RPM and the rest of the refinements might just bring it back to equal the RS!

By the time you add in dealer mark ups it will be RS pricing. Happy to have RS and wait for .2 RS which will blow them all out.

But I have zero interest in going from RS to non RS no matter what is out there.

RS is RS. GT3.2 is nice but not RS. Once you've tasted that (like other things in life) you rarely go back. Gonna be very hard to RS.2 even for those of us that have .1's. Only good news is it seems clear there won't be a manual option!

Nice to hear someone that doesn't "protect" their investments and always give a balanced view of these cars and their plus and negatives.

Always read and enjoy your reviews of the 991rs.

Hope to see you at Sebring the Mother's Day weekend?

An RS is an RS but a GT3 is a GT3. I personally do not want an RS because I think the Turbo scoops and wing are ugly. I do find the car to be a presence but far from a good looking car. I find the GT4 to be the better looking of all the (3) out going GT cars but I can not have that 500 HP in the GT4 so now I am back to the .2 GT3. Dumped my .1 GT3 15 months ago for the GT4

Hardly. Just making light of his comments on RS.

I enjoy life bud all good here.

Sure a lot of hate for RS from non-RS owners here. Interesting.

Any who...
