Default GT3RS above 92dB???

There are a few track days this year at Laguna Seca that I'm looking at. Some of them have a 92dB max limit. My exhaust is stock, and I'm wondering if I'll pass? I know theres always the option of lifting on your way up the hill to turn 6 but sometimes they'll just go to another part of the track to bust you.

I've tried to do some research to see what the max dB is but I haven't found anything. You guys have any idea?

I have seen 3-4 991 gt3rs at LCMT pass - they have a strict 92db limit.

No problem. Just change the mufflers.

Highly unlikely to pass without GPS box and /or turndown pipe.

Lift probably works too.

with turn downs tips that have suppression built in was able to get down to 95.6 db at 50 feet at local track on my RS that requires 96 db or lower, not likely to get to 92 stock.

Can't imagine an RS would pass Laguna, given a standard .1 Carrera S with PSE can't.

And a standard GT4 can't pass either.

I have a CMS exhaust and am going to NCM this year in April. Their max is 103 dB at 50 feet. I will have to measure sound level with exhaust button off before I go and find a solution if high.

Contact OrthoJoe on RL. He will get you the info you need for LS. . Turn down pipes with a GPS box likely needed......

CMS will be very close to 103 at 50 feet, but I think you should be OK. My track measures at 30 feet and the CMS at WOT, climbing a hill, near redline was 103.

100% certainty you will NOT pass sound at laguna seca with a stock exhaust. The car gets flagged for 98dB at full tilt

If you want a way to pass sound without lift, look up mech33's gps box mod

If you want to a method to pass sound stock, late apex t5, shift to 5, drive up the left side of the track wot, move back to the right as you go under the bridge and then shift back down to 3rd for t6. You lose 0.5 seconds this way. If anyone else tells you it's more than that, they are making excuses for their slow lap times

Here is a video of the technique:

GPS box is the way to go:

Contact Alekshop if you want to buy ready-made GPS box for passing sound. They may have some in stock. It's a bore to make one, so buying is a good idea. There may be some for sale on rennlist or some nor cal FB groups.

It also depends how they check dBs. I mean the location of the sonometer in regards to the surrounding. I am often flagged with peaks at 117dB and my car is stock! Those idiots are measuring noise alongside the pit line where the noise gets multiplied.
