Default New Lightweight, High Strength Axle Assemblies for R, GT3, GT3RS

As most of you know, I do not do this for a living but for the passion. In this regard, we are doing a limited number of lightweight axles/cv's for the R, GT3 and GT3RS. They will save several pounds of rotating/unsprung weight per side. The description is as follows:

1. lightweight, high angularity (unlike, e.g., tripods that respond less favorably to extreme bump and droop) ten ceramic ball CV's for better power delivery;
2. entire CV's (except dust covers) made from high strength 300M;
3. high strength, gun drilled Aermet 310 shafts;
4. shafts receive titanium nitride coating to prevent corrosion;
5. aluminum CV dust covers;
6. aerospace tear/crack resistant boots;
7. enhanced inboard and outboard cooling;
8. complete with high strength 300M lightweight fasteners (MJ10 x 1.5, heads are 12 point, 11 mm) with provision for safety wiring;
9. are filled with Krytox GPL 217;
10. are fully serviceable inboard and outboard -- both for examination and individual parts replacement;
11. all axle components can be made available on a piece by piece basis so as to enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs;
12. all axles are serial numbered.

The cost is high. It will be between $15,500 and $16,500 per car set though they are entiirely rebuildable. If anyone should be interested, please PM me.

Will post pictures when the sets are ready (of course, by then, it will be too late to make any more sets). If you look at them as rebuildable and amortize the cost over several years, they become almost cheap. And, truly, when you see them, you will realize that this as good as axles get. Indeed, you would want to put one on your book shelf (as, in fact, I have with an older RSR axle).

Phil, buy a set while you're waiting on your car. Something to look at as opposed to tracking that ship 24/7.

I've seen axles fail on RSR's and it's not pretty.

Robert - it might help if we understood what to compare your proposed axles to. Meaning....

How do they compare price-wise and design to factory axles?
How do they compare to any other aftermarket/heavy duty axles?
When the factory axle fails, does it destroy any other parts?

Thanks bud!

Although I am truly not trying to sell axles, tomorrow I will put together some of this information. But, to be sure, nothing I can say will sell anyone unless they want the best and can afford it.

Suspect you'd pay almost as much if not more for Pankl or Metalor axles and i doubt they're as good as what Robert is producing.

Gotcha.

This is new territory for me. So appreciate the insight and information.

Is Pankl the Porsche Motorsport supplier? Or in-house?
