I think the GT Silver works best with all the exterior carbon bits. Job well done.

Thank you. I did the cf in batches and am very pleased with it. I wish I was around to be with the car more. Here are the front intakes. They turned out great I just need to move them from my dining room table to the car.

How are those installed? I heard the factory ones are glued in and they all have to be cut out. I want to do a lot of this CF stuff (have front spoiler and wing shipping right now), but only if it's reversible. This seems like one part that may not be ??

You are correct. I suggest you contact DB carbon and ask them. They have many successful installs but it is fender off and usually a hot wire cut out of the factory piece. I'm working with my dealer and their body guys to get this done but it is some surgery. I have to say the pieces are really nice (if you are going for a cf look). Once I get the rest of the exterior pieces I'm going to get these in but given the work involved I have not been in a hurry.

The actual engine parts move you can see the pistons moving up and down pretty cool. Good distraction from all the serious car talk on prices and allocations
Your son is moving along at a great pace. There was an article about the kit in Porsche's latest Christophorus magazine. The guy who was the lead designer on the RS project for Lego assembled the kit 40 times as part of the development process and it still takes him 10 hours! I spent about 25 hours on mine which included building, disassembling, and rebuilding the entire gearbox because I inadvertently used the wrong piece to pin one of the gears!! In any event, it was huge fun. Makes me wish I was a kid again and had an excuse to build one of Lego's other king sized Technics models.

Took me two weeks to complete mine on and off during my spare time.

He really enjoyed it he finished in less than twelve hours. I just don't have the patience. It's pretty darn heavy.
