Default Garage security

With the unfortunate circumstances of cars being stolen from garages, a lot have mentioned better garage security measures. I wanted to expand on that to see what everyone's suggestions were for garage security.

I have my garage door connected to my home security alarm with a motion sensor in there as well and I also have a simple camera with motion alarm that will email photos to me when it detects motion.

A good insurance policy. If they really want your car, they're gonna get your car.

That said, I think simple stuff like locks, alarms, dog, block cars in, keep garage door closed/be less conspicuous.

Oh and if you have keyless entry, keep your keys in a Faraday box at home. There's a group that's worked our neighborhood with a scanner multiple times and had no trouble getting into cars.

Zip tie the red cable/emergency exit on the garage opener. (just google search you'll see what I mean)
Barrier any outside doors or windows
Lock your car
Don't leave keys in it

My garage doors have an electric deadbolt that automatically latches in once the garage door closes. It provides an additional level of security. Warning: if someonre really wants to steal our cars they will. Just make it tougher to and keep good insurance,

Love it. My Boxer/mobile alarm system, Maggie, just passed at the ripe old age of 13 years.

Don't post pictures of your garage in the "Hey Show Me Your GT3 Garage" thread.

I pretty much have the same thing with multiple motion sensors, 2 electric sirens and 1 K-5 train horn on a solenoid hooked up to my air compressor tank(its crazy loud). When everything goes off you can here it for a 1/2 mile. lol. If either the house or garage is tampered with, both setups go off since my garage is detached from the house, they are linked together as one.

I had a Lift Master at our old house which is a screw drive. The Autolock when shut which includes throwing a pin in the channel. It is a side mount which also allows you to run the garage door to your ceiling to make room for a lift.

Works great and dead silent.

I had mine professionally installed which engaged the pin lock when closed...

I have motion and magnetic contacts hard wired to my panel. If all else fails I taught my wife and kids the basic essentials of using the second amendment.
