AWE Center muffler delete installed + vid
Hey Guys,
After hearing several center muffler deletes in 997 and 991 GT3s, I knew it would be a required upgrade for my RS. I decided to order one up from AWE soon after taking delivery of my car.
I personally love the tips that AWE include with the kit: they're subtly larger than stock, and are easily adjustable for a perfect fit. The diamond black finish is similar enough to stock not to scream "aftermarket!" but are better finished than the OE outlets.
I'm totally satisfied with my purchase- install was fairly simple: the hardest part was getting the existing muffler off the car. The delete pipe slips right on and AWE includes quality hardware to finish the job.
From the outside, the exhaust sound is definitely enhanced, and far more fitting for the character of this car than the OE setup.
From inside the cabin, there's not much difference in exhaust volume with the windows up... at full chat the inside of the cabin is so insanely loud with intake sounds and mechanical cacophony it's hard to hear anything else!
Cruising on the highway there's no drone.
I'll let you guys make your own assessment of the sound on this quick video I put together, but after living with it over a few hundred miles, I'm stoked.

Sounds awesome! Though should we expect ANY of the center deletes to sound any different from each other? I see there are some design differences in a couple of them. But my question still stands....
Thoughts?

I think sound is probably pretty similar between all of the products out there, although I prefer the sound out of the pipes with a crossover integrated into them.
