I think Porsche is smart enough to make the 991.2 GT3 faster than the GTS (at least until you fit track tires).
Exactly. Throw some MPSC2's on the 991.2 C2S and I bet it will be quite fast. We need a 4.1L GT3 engine like the Sharkwerks 997.2 RS. 543 hp and 400 ft/lbs of tq.
Yes, he told me months ago that GT2 RS production begins 2018, GT3 RS June 2018.
I think 992 production will be starting right around that time. It's not unprecedented to have some overlap of generations, but that makes me think the GT3 RS being described is a very small run of limited editions. Nothing like the long run we had of the 991.1 RS...

Entirely different engine; literally zero commonality.
The factory has never sold a flat six with a swept volume > 4.0 liters.
I am in Europe. The dealers were all told of their 2017 allocations two weeks ago. Mine got 4 slots. July, September, October and December. I have a great relationship with my dealer to the extent that he told me all the relevant detail back in March. Some of which I reported on this forum.
Last week, he contacted me to tell me about the allocations and to confirm if I wanted one of the very first deliveries or did I want to wait few months.
Is there any other info you can share with us at this time that hasn't already been shared, like the MT option, 4.0 engine?

Correct.
991.1 GT3 RS production has overlapped with 991.2 production for over a year. Similarly, 991.1 Turbo production overlapped with 991.2 production for 6 months.

Chris, two questions for you as you have good inside information.
1- how long do you think 991.2 GT3 production will be? I was hoping to do European delivery of my .2 GT3 in late summer 2018
2- do you know what will be the torque number of the upcoming powerkit/X51/GTS engine? The brief website description only mentioned HP increase to 450.

Thanks man. I hope you're intel is as sweet as it sounds... Can't wait for mine,
Very curious to get one of these power package cars in the shop to do some R&D and make a comparison against the data we have from the standard S models.
For everyone's reference, here is a dyno curve of 991.2 C4S stock versus with our Sport Headers and Sport Cats, feel free to analyze however you may like. Given peak numbers at 375whp from the advertised 420hp, this would dictate a drivetrain loss on our dyno of approximately 10%. Calculated crank horsepower from the 407whp with our exhaust upgrades would be just short of 450hp. Tuning will be available in early 2017, and we expect big numbers to say the least.

As I have reported on other threads, my dealer has been allocated 4 build slots for the 991.2 GT3 in 2017. First slot is for a July build which is also the first month of production. I have been told to expect the car early August...as long as the summer holidays don't get in the way.
Right on. Sounds like you'll be one of the first on here with the car and info. Looking forward to your updates as you put the build together. Enjoy!
Cool. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, or I'm not as good at math as I think, but 420*0.88 does not equal 375. I think you're doing the calculation wrong. It's not 375 * loss = 420, it's 420 * loss = 375. I can see how you'd make that mistake, but then again, it might be an intentional mistake to inflate your tuned numbers.
Good catch, that is certainly an unintentional mistake. Back to school for me lol. Edited the post to a more accurate "Given peak numbers at 375whp from the advertised 420hp, this would dictate a drivetrain loss on our dyno of approximately 10%. Calculated crank horsepower from the 407whp with our exhaust upgrades would be just short of 450hp"
