Just be careful. You get to play with the car moving around at the edge of traction at far slower speeds than you'd normally need.
Yeah, I did it once over at COTA. Didn't really enjoy it plus we had to keep the windows down so I and the car got a little wet inside.

Agree that it's a fun experience.......as long as you're alone or basically alone on the track.

Racing, not DE, has demonstrated 10 X the number of accidents when the track is wet compared to a dry track. I don't worry about making adjustment in the rain, I worry about everyone else not making those adjustments, and then taking out my car.

Like Martin, I also don't track in the rain, unless it's just me on the track, then I agree it is fun to get to know your cars traction in the wet.......but not if anyone else is running close to you.

That is the great thing about tracking in SoCal, rain is rarely an issue.

Well yeah. Obviously.

In DE though, you can leave plenty of space all around you and be as cautious as you need to be. Getting water in the car sucks, but I've found it dries up just fine. I was a bit worried when some ripples appears on my doors around the stitching but after a while they went away completely.

Another feature worthy to be mentioned here that we want is a reliable engine...

There is a huge range of opinons on this topic. I think the only thing that is agreed is that the last one cost around $131k with PDK-S included. I'd like to think the new one with Manual could be had for $139,900 or less but many think I'm dreaming

Even if Porsche does offer the car for under $140k as I hope, I agree with others that it will be possible to spec it up far higher, if one does not exercise restraint on the options. I bet plenty of people will spec PTS colors for instance with the new $7k price, among many other pricey options (PCCB for another example at $9,200). Color to Sample leather is an option for $5,600 on the Carrera S now also - wouldn't be surprised to see that on the GT cars too to go with the $5k Bucket seats and $4k Full Leather. Another popular option is the $3,500 front suspension lift. Will be interesting to see if PDK-S is an expensive option (maybe there will be two entirely different configurations - one to go with each gearbox choice).

180K with decent options.

Closer to 200K fully optioned.

IMO

So you are predicting a nearly 40% price jump? I hope you're the crazy one and not me

You're basically predicting the garden-variety GT3 will cost the same as the 991.1 GT3 RS and the uber-limited special edition 911R (which included PCCB's and other premium specs) and Double the price of the GT4??

That would really set a bad precedent with the pricing of their other models - would really paint them in a corner that I don't think is rational. There are far more buyers at $150k loaded than $200k loaded.

I guess it also is important to know what you mean by "decent options". For me that means Manual (hoping free at worst and discount at best), Lightweight Flywheel, and LWB's. Can easily live without the rest...

Nope.

.1 was 160K with decent options and closer to 180K top spec.

So I'm predicting 10-12% jump.

That's close to 145 base, and 35k in options is a ton of stuff.

145-149 base.

My car doesn't have a ton of options. It has iron brakes, no lift, some other small nice things are probably missing too. It's price was 160K EUR in Germany when new.

Adaptive Sports seats Plus
• Aluminium Look fuel cap
• Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor
• Carbon door sill guards, illuminated
• Carbon interior package (with leather interior)
• Centre console trim Carbon
• Chrono Package Plus
• Cruise control
• Decorative seams leather interior package in Red
• Electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors
• Full LED headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS +)
• Heated front seats
• Instrument dials instrument cluster in black, incl. rev counter in yellow
• ISOFIX child seat mounting points on front passenger seat
• Light design package
• Painted headlamp cleaning system cover
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) including navigation module with universal audio interface
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Preparation outer door-sill guards, illuminated
Preparation Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS)
Privacy glass
Six disc CD/DVD autochanger
Smoking package
Sound Package Plus
Sports seat Plus backrests in leather
Telephone module
Voice control
Wheels painted in Black (highgloss)
Windscreen with grey top-tint
20-inch GT3 wheel
90l-Fuel tank

I expect .2 with the same options to cost 180K.

If US base is lower in USD than Germany base in EUR, then it will be a bit lower in USD.

I agree - could not possibly feel good about paying $51k to $55k in options on a GT car (where virtually everything that "matters" is traditionally included). Difference between his base estimate of $145-149k and his $200k Fully Optioned estimate...

I agree with grant . I think we will see a base price around 140. Over 145 would be an outlier I think
