Nice article related to the state of the GT program... https://motorsport-motorsportmagazin...owing-problem/
It seems like the directions Porsche and others are taking when it comes to their GT cars is away from the commercially available road going cars (i.e. GT3). If this really is the long-term direction then the GT nameplate may just be a marketing term.

A wingless GT3 (whether it be manual or PDK) would not be called a GT3 just like how the wingless GT3RS was not called a GT3RS, but rather an R.
The GT department could be branching out and making NA motors that are track focused (GT3/GT3RS/GT2) and driver focused (R, 'wingless GT3', etc.)

Perhaps the 991.2 Sport Classic is that wingless GT3.

The wingless gt3 will obviously be called the GT3 R. Oh, 🤔

I recently heard from a good European source (cleaning lady?) that price increase will be 8-10% in Europe. I remember the 991.1 GT3 being $131k. Do I have this right or was it higher for 2016 model year?
If $131k is correct and the US sees the same increase, then 991.2 price without options would be $141,500 to $144,100. Seems like a reasonable starting point (with plenty of room to make it more expensive with a wide variety of available options).

Pretty significant % increase as compared to other models / years / generations. It would be funny if they made the manual a cost option due to the demand.

Porsche are " robbing " themselves for giving away the manual transmission. I'd pay extra for it! It is so much better than that crap automatic pdk!

Very true. The 8-10% increase doesn't align historically for GT3s nor does it align to 991.1 --> 991.2 prices for other 911s (as I pointed out earlier). The current Turbo is at $159k and I would assume the 991.2 GTS will start ~$121k... so $140k +/- $3k seems reasonable. Although, $137k would be nice...

And while I do find your quibs humorous, the constant harping can be tiring for even the most ardent MT fans..
