Do you have a 3.0 with towing package on your 2017 Q7? If so you are limited to 7,700 lbs gross trailer weight (trailer and cargo). Most likely that weight pulling capacity is achieved with only a driver weighing typically 150 lbs so if you are adding cargo and passengers inside the vehicle then the towing capacity will be reduced.

You will also need to install a trailer brake controller.

If you are towing with the Q7, you need to go light aluminum. Years ago I towed with my SUV, I then switched to a Cummins turbo diesel and will never have an improper tow rig again.

Trailex makes an open version about 950 pounds and a covered version which is 2100 pounds. plus car and gear. Aluminum is the way to go.

I use Intech trailer which is aluminum and top notch quality. If you're towing with a Q7 you probably need something lighter and not as nice like Trailex.

Open or Closed?

Featherlight open car hauler with air dam is a great and light option.

3.0 , i'm not sure what is it
but yes , towing package

the car weight 3000LB
Q7 can tow up to 7700 lb
that's not should be enough?

the car doors in the Mclaren open up over the roof line
that's not an issue to get out of the car on loading/unloading?

It's tempting to have your SUV serve dual purpose as a tow and everyday vehicle but I suggest you either spend the money and buy a more appropriate tow vehicle like a 3/4 ton truck or rent one when you need it. Enterprise Commercial rental has really reasonable rates for renting 3/4 ton trucks that really made me question buying a truck for towing a dozen times a year.

Also, using the SUV as your tow vehicle really limits your trailer choices. If you find you like tracking your McLaren you will soon want a trailer with space for tools, extra wheels and tires, compressor or air tank etc. When I am fully loaded with two sets of wheels, fuel, air tank and my car I'm right at 10,000 pounds with a 24' three axle trailer. So with your SUV you're stuck with the lightest enclosed trailers available and probably can't add much or any spares.

This is a prescription for changing your trailers and tow vehicles as often as your sports car. Just ask Mooty.

Talking

I tow a 24" Carson Racer dovetail trailer (10000 lbs rated - not aluminum) with my Cayenne diesel 3.0 liter turbo with tow package, trailer brake controller and load balancing hitch.

Very close to the MAX weight of 7700 lbs and works perfectly.

People joke that I am the only one that can park my tow vehicle in the trailer....

I tow a 20' enclosed ATC with my Cayenne Turbo S. It tows better than my Excursion 7.3 PSD did... I did admittedly lighten the load I used to carry in the ATC when switching from the Excursion to the Cayenne.

yesterday i drove it with 7 people
the engine fee very weak
so with trailer and the 675LT , it's will be very slow.

you have an SUV with Twin Turbo V8
that's different story

what trailers brand/models are the lightest?
how can i go out of the car after unloading?

My cayenne diesel tows my featherlite open with tires and gear fine.
For enclosed I'd get a proper pickup.
I've rented enterprise commercial. That works too. Trucks were all brand new 3/4 ton. Towed trailer like not there

The Aerovault is extremely durable, lightweight (2300lbs), and can be pulled with your Cayenne. It's all aluminum, all of your cars will fit, and it tows like a dream. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

What concerns me about seeing all these SUVs towing these enclosed trailers is not whether they can tow it, it's stopping in an emergency and the tail wagging the dog, so to speak. Not enough "***" on these vehicles if the poop hits the fan.
