Porsche would be stupid not to take advantage of the current market situation. (And we know they're not)
Pretty much same amount of 991RS produced as 991.1gt3. So obviously not to sensitive to price.
Porsche has sold around 7000-8000 gt3/RS/R out of this generation.
I'm still seeing a 500hp 4.0l 991.2gt3 with a few lightweight parts from RS and R. Price around $160-170k MSRP.
Still not as aggressive styling as 991rs. Smaller wing/no front fender openings.
Don't see 991gt2rs being a limited edition in this market. The grand finale N/A "cup edition" will be the last of the 991generation.

I agree. Just drove a 488 this weekend and it is a great car, seriously fast. Certainly more subdued sound than the RS. But disagree that it doesn't feel turbocharged - it does in spades based on power delivery alone. Amazing car but happy I have an RS.

And I don't think Porsche would like the GTS with cup 2s running similar times as 991.2gt3.
Hopefully we don't have to wait until Geneva to find out.

My thought is, what if they don't make the .2rs any more, what then could the price jump be on the .2gt3?

I think that most people will agree with the following, even if it is still speculation, it is educated speculation:
1. 991.2 GT3 will be released. More likely than not will be NA and offered in a manual.
2. GT2 AND/OR GT2RS will be released.
Here are my questions based on the all the information floating on these forums:
A. Do you agree with either statement #1 and/or statement #2
B. Assuming you agree, would they release a 991.2 GT3RS?
C. If you don't agree, with statement #1, and you think the next generation GT3/RS will be turbo, why would PAG make a
GT2/GT2RS? How would it be differentiated.
D. Ignore all of the above and assume that PAG (and most other car manufacturers) are moving towards turbo. Would the 992 GT be turbo? If so, would PAG really need a GT3/GT3RS/GT2/GT2RS? Or, just one GT model based on the Carrera that is not the same as a Turbo S.
PAG has done a good job offering so many models for so many circumstances, but the lines are starting to seem blurred if all of the 911 models are turbo
Thoughts?

The risk of upsetting current owners will not outweigh PAG desire to return profits while they are here for the taking.
Whatever they make 992ish of will be instant classics too.

What about the turbo lag and subdued sound? Do those factors matter less when the performance is that high?
It seems like the GT2RS is the "holy grail" (as I have heard people describe it), but it is drastically different than the GT3RS, so I'm trying to understand why most people unilaterally prefer the GT2RS when all I hear is how the NA engine, light car, and high rpm are the MOST desirable aspects of the GT line.

So, for the people who really want a GT2RS and many have stated if they could only have one GT it would be the GT2RS (thereby trading their current GT3RS), why is the GT2RS that desirable?
