I am missing your points. The RS is not in the Ferrari, Lambo or McLaren price range yet has similar performance. Performance/value wise the RS is a no brainer. No additional R&D costs other than minor cosmetic changes and upgrade in engine performance.

The fact that the 992 will be introduced somewhat later shouldn't influence the dollar signs rolling in front of the VW executive eyes. They are digging out of a massive financial hole with the VW emissions fiasco. The RS is a proven financial winner. Why drop it?

That said, I am uncertain if Porsche will build it despite good reasons for doing so.
