I love Gulf Blue but not on this car. The GT3, yes -- with silver wheels.

The asking price is indeed $325K, slightly over $50K on
top of its MSRP.

The story is that a local customer ordered the car
from them but sold it back because of an illness in
his immediate family (wife). The odd thing is that
they have page one of the PCNA's built sheet for
public view in a stand in front of the car & it lists
the customer & his Cave Creek address for all to
see! I have avoided posting it (see below) to
preserve the customer's private information which
should not be disclosed to the public. But this is
bad form & rather careless of the selling dealer!

The general manager at the Penske store told me
it's one of two 'Gulf Blue' 991 gt3 RS in the country
...and that he believes it's priced competitively
relative to other PTS 991 gt3 RSs in the US.
The latter might indeed be true!

A few interesting options, including $7,894 worth of 'CXX'/'Sonderwunsch'!
To some it might be 'useless' options...but I am not in that camp!

What is also weird is they seem to have posted the wholesale pricing rather than retail pricing on the build sheet. Very odd.

If that $7800 option is the Wholesale Price what's retail. And why are they even showing Wholesale price form.????

There is a $old tag on wiper so someone fell for it.

And careless.

Dealer makes 10% on base & 15% on options. So $7800 at dealer invoice
translates at around $9176 on the MSRP.

The name on it might be the person who ordered it.
If so, it might be basically there for 'show'! As of
3 pm today, it was not yet 're-sold'...and it had that
'Sold' tag on! But you never know with Penske.

Yup, just confirms that this is a dealer spec'ed car with all those "boxes" checked.

I love the color, but as an old Houston Oiler fan, I might just be sympathetic to light blues...

Default 'Gulf Blue' is more popular than most of you think!

I think you are kidding...but never know with you.
Frankly it doesn't have the 'tell-tale' signs of a dealer
spec'ed RS. It's too customized & 'Porsche Exclusive'
does CXX only via special request from a known
customer. So highly unlikely.

It might be hard to imagine today but 'Gulf Blue' was probably one of
the most requested PTS colors since Porsche stopped offering that hue
as a standard color back in the early 1970's.

*

It was even requested as PTS on a Carrera GT:

And at least three 918 were painted in PTS 'Gulf Blue'!

*

When I was considering doing a .2 997 gt3 a few years ago, PCNA
specifically told my dealer that 'Gulf Blue' was one of the few colors
they could not do due to a licensing issue with Gulf. But that got
resolved quickly and PAG was able to get 'Gulf Blue', color code 328,
back on the approved 991 list...and for good measured approved
'Gulf Orange' too!

*

Just recently PAG chose 'Gulf Blue' for a Limited Edition 991 Targa
for its Dutch market.

'Gulf Blue' is undoubtedly one of the most iconic colors in Porsche's
history! And it probably competes with 'Riviera' as the most requested
PTS color since 1974.
