Default GT3RS 19" Wheels

Hey,

I love running my forgeline 19" wheels on my GT3. They clear my PCCB brakes and I think the car looks much better on 19's plus I have the same rubber as RS 265/325. Have any of you guys with RS's swap the stock wheels for 19" HRE or Forgeline wheels?

By changing the wheel diameters away from 20/21 diameters does this freak of the brake system and traction control?

Just curious if any who track theirs a bunch tried this yet?

James,

Are you using 19" on your track package RS's? I saw the video of the read and black RS's does one of them it? Any major draw backs or issues with the car systems? Did you notice any major improvements from 19's.

I'm curious too...what 19 inch wheel sizes and tire sizes there are for the RS.

My recollection was that TC had to be turned off on the GMG car. Also, it's been while so I'd have to see it again to confirm, I thought the rear wheel's offset was a smidge off. Perhaps a small spacer would've looked better or it could be that Forgeine was playing it safe with their measurements. Forgeine will do custom offsets I believe so it may be moot.

Love my 19"s on my GT3.

We have done multiple installs on the RS with the 19" wheel conversion and the 265/345 Hoosier R7 combo and its worked great. We ran a 9.5 in the front and a 12 in the rear with the proper offsets for clearance, etc. I have tested this setup at Thermal and the car is amazing, with tremendous grip in the high speed sections and even more so off the corners. Plus, we updated the brakes to the Brembo setup and now the car stops proper, with the ability to modulate and not get into the ABS as easily vs stock setup and/or the PCCB setup.
I didn't have any issues with the TC as the car has so much more grip, it was too much fun and a fantastic alternative to a Cup car!

Thanks for clarifying James.

If it doesn't interfere with TC and/or ABS I'll likely be going this route. Hopefully you guys will have one that I can check out while I'm there.

You guys will have my RS next week!

Thank you it looks so much better with 19". Glad to hear you have quite a few out on the tracks with no issues.

Interesting to hear that this doesn't cause any software issues. R7 rear/front ratio is 1.02 vs 1.05 for stock rubber. R7 rears are 1.9" smaller in diameter while fronts are 1.1" smaller.

I'd be pretty pumped if in fact it were plug and play.

I put down consistent 2:11's on the long course at Thermal on the Hoosier shod RS with no issues and I was pushing it hard, fully activating the ABS and deactivated TC.....the car was a blast!

We did nothing to the car other than a complete alignment change which makes a big difference......

james, if you left TC and ESC on will the 19" freak out computer.

on 997.2RS, any tires will work when TC ECS turned off.
but if you turn them on, it's no go.
