9000 rpm

9000 rpm
Marketing gimmick? Lots of chest beating about 9000 rpm on the site but is there really any benefit to this slightly higher rev limiter?
3.8 makes peak power at 8250
Optimal shift rpm is above peak somewhat - gearing dependent
Lower gears are spread further apart which warrants shifting even higher - 1st the highest
I'm sure pdk is programmed to shift each gear at the optimal rpm, so...
What rpm does pdk shift each gear in gt3? Real rpm, not tach reading. I'd be shocked if the gt3 shifts into 2nd gear above 8800.

Yes. If you look on the site you will find the commentary here. Its the gear tables you need to witness. The 9000 shift allows the engine to fall into a meatier part of the rpm/torque band during an up-shift. I will try and dig up the chart for you. in Sport Auto the GT3 shifts pretty much at redline in every gear from 2nd up according to my AIM telemetry gear. It can depend on the engine load. they didnt put it there as a gimmick (if they did then jokes on them!) , their GT3R and other race engines also spin up to 9000-9500 and beyond peak power...
