collectible R premium is another story
not a priority for Porsche what the flippers do

This would mean the only difference between RS and .2 GT3 is the body and aero

Why **** off R owners and RS owners? Am i the only one who thinks it will have less than 500 hp? Can the new 3 be 3.9 instead is that a possibility?
997.1 GT3 and RS has the same power figures too....The areo, lightwieght flywheel and wider body makes a big difference too.

Why would the 911R Customers be pissed. They got the Driver's car they asked the Mother ship for w/ no wing. Because it has the 911R badge and fancy seat patterns they will be fine.

The RS PDK Group got what they wanted which was a fast car around the track. The 991.2 GT3 will not be able to with a Manual beat the RS PDK. Now will the PDK 991.2 GT3 be able to beat the RS??- could come pretty close but that is life

are you referring to on track or straight line? Bec as it is now in a straight line the 3 almost is equal to RS so i assume with the 25 hp addition and PDK option it should neat it unless the 200 rpm on .1 GT3 gave it some advantage. I am assuming you are talking about track though

This happens all the time - time marches one (Porsche has to do this or the competition from other marques would kill them).

The 997.2 GT3 is faster, more powerful and cheaper than 997.1 RS.

A 991.1 GT3 is faster and much cheaper than 997 RS 4.0...

A 997 GT2 RS is faster and much cheaper than Carrera GT

Maybe a 991 GT2 RS will be faster than a 918 around the Ring? It will be close for less than 1/3 the price...

+1. Even if .2 GT3 was to be faster than RS, the next RS will be faster than that. I think everyone wants their car to be that last and greatest 911. It's the inherent "problem" with the 911 that each one gets better. Unlike Porsche, Ferrari just changes the model entirely so you don't have these complaint from customers.

I just pray that it will be NA. I'm a die-hard 6MT fan, but the PDK is so much better suited for a fast and high revving motor.

I disagree with the notion that this motor is "better suited" to the PDK. Sure, for outright pace and speed, PDK allows you to be faster, but just reading the reviews on the R, it is clear it uses the same ratios through 4th gear, and pulls as hard (or harder) because of even less power loss through the manual drivetrain. Also, with the lightweight single mass flywheel, it probably feels electric in the lower gears, because the LWFW will be lighter than the PDK version.

So it seems like it is every bit as enjoyable to drive, so "better suited" is perspective, just like your choice in transmission.

Let's face it, if you are in the market for a manual GT3 at this point, it's not because you want to win your DE or set FTD at the autocross....it's simply about preference at this point.

Next RS will be a monster, just like the current one is now.

A lot of logic here. The ZF sourced PDK is fine for many applications on many engines (turns out ZF market the 'PDK' to other manufacturers). I have a manual (using the GT4 shifter) 991 where the transmission is basically a PDK with a few bits removed, etc. Having a great time shifting my own gears. The trick is catching the RPMs, that means learning the engine and building muscle memory. If things are a bit out of control, the engineers can tune the rev drops to suit the manual transmission and human reflexes. It is about fun and preference. To each his own.
