That rings true, but I also think it's possible that the 4.2 could be a limited going-away edition, similar to the 997 RS4.0. If true, this would be for the 918 VIP's almost exclusively...
Looks like they took some of the design cues for the front bumper from the GT4/Spyder.
Very GT4 in front, diverges from the design cues started with the 997 GT3. GT4 front looks great, but the two cars are coming closer together, will be hard to tell them apart coming at you.

No worries - most people will be watching the cars pull away from them
Do I see what looks like enhanced air intakes on rear deck lid....dare I say it for a turbo?
No, my thought is that these dual intakes replicate the scheme used on the 991.1 RS, but without using side intakes from the widebody. Just different way to plumb the intake air into the dual filters of the 4.0L motor.

Quite possibly but I seriously doubt they'd put the 4.0 engine in the regular GT3. Bearing in mind the issues with the 3.8... I think they'd go turbo for the .2's They did it on regular 991.2's.
I'm going to stick my neck out and at this point think it's turbo!
