Default G vs. E/F Motor

I have about 75 miles clocked in my replacement "G" motor. It might be that I have not paid much attention before but it seems like when I brake to a stop, the new motor is running slightly higher RPMs when PDK downshifts.

Curious if anyone else has noticed this or anything else different?

I noticed little changes too, I think it's from the new reflash they do when they do the swap. Higher oil pressure, and a bit higher oil temps too on mine. I am 6k miles into my G motor, and I don't notice it anymore.

I now have had my 'G' engine for 5 days. The only thing I really noticed is that from 1st through 3rd gear from a stop it does a lot more shimming and shaking. On my 'F' engine it used to some of that, but not as noticeable as the new engine. I always attributed it to a loose gear box for the high RPM's it needs to get to.

After 250 break-in miles, I noticed it's really drinking oil. Went down 3 bars already. Also the oil gauge doesn't appear to be as stable as it fluctuates +/-bar.

1200 miles on my G engine. Agree to the oil consumption, seems much higher than the E.

Interesting, I have 4000 miles on my G of which 900 are track miles (6 track days). The most noticeable thing for me was how little oil the engine used compared to my E engine. Im using about half (150ml per full track day) than I was using before on the track. The oil pressure is definitively higher with the later software for G. The oil bar reading is definitely peculiar with the G flash, not that its ever been straight forward, so i would not attribute sudden drops in readings to oil usable until everything has settled down somewhat....

For those that have an original E engine but no evidence of issues but maybe haven't pushed to limits of track etc is there any other bulletin or likelihood a change is needed or inspection?

So many G's...did all of your F's suffer the same fate?

Mostly E's. Very few F's.

Sorry for a dumb question, how do you know what engine you have?

^ To confirm look at passenger side edge of trunk when you open. Also unless your car had a replacement, 14 = E, 15 = F and 16 = G.

The 10th VIN digit should illustrate which you have as well

Mine's an "F" engine, running great so far, doesn't smoke at start up and minimal oil consumption.
