Default Prolly Embarrassing RS Question ... (and other nonsense)

So I just took delivery of my (new to me) LO 16 RS ... I'll post pics and stuff after she gets detailed maņana.

Quick question because this car is completely new to me and I've driven it less than a mile at low speeds from the delivery spot to my garage ... I'm sure it's completely normal but what is that puffing sound I hear from the front of the car? It almost sounds like some suspension air pressure adjustment.

Thanks

It's heavy breathing asking you to take it for a hard drive.

PDK shifts.

Interesting to note that the standard GT3 doesn't make the same noise when shifting, or at least it's not as audible.

My first thought was the front axle lift being lowered

That's what I thought too. If the lift is up and you go above a certain speed (30 mph?) the lift goes down. I'm not sure if you can hear it while you're driving though.

Yes you definitely can.

Sounds like a can of nitros going off ... whoosh.

At around 37 mph, it automatically lowers the car if the lift is activated in the up position.

Thanks guys, the axle lift system is all the way down.

It might actually be the PDK shifts and a little of the front shocks compressing. I only hear it at low speeds with the window open and it appears to be completely normal. Once the windows are closed it's inaudible.

Now, how do I recline these seats?

So glad you brought up this question. I have the same sound on shifts like pressurized air is escaping from the front of the car. I did not have this sound on my 991 GT3. Glad it is normal?

I hear it in mine, and personally I'm a fan. I have always thought it was an exhaust note. Good chance I am incorrect, but I figured to be potential back pressure or maybe something to do with big *** side vents feeding the 4.0 liter! I definitely didn't hear it in my GT3. I am grabbing my RS from my dealer today. I'll ask.

I think it means you are driving too slow. It's an RS, not a Prius. . .

That could also be it.

I love the visceral elements of this car ... everything it does means something.
