But steel rotors having vibration isn’t normal. Probably just material transfer that goes away after a couple of laps at the track. What pads did you run?

well, I just bought the car, did 3000 km and finally went to 3 track days. After the 3d track day I felt vibration.
Pads are just stock ones.

^^ Good chance it will go away after a bit more street driving.
May get worse before it gets better.

I’m wondering if you’ve overheated the OEM pads on the track and now have an uneven deposition of pad material on the rotors. If so you can attempt to remove the excess material manually, or get some higher temp/mu pads on the car and have them remove the uneven deposits for you.

What are the best high temp pads available for the OEM steel brakes then? So that they are exceptionally good for track work and at the same time do not make an unpleasant noise while cruising on the streets.

Cost of the pads is not an issue. I just need the best possible solution.

Some people say Pagid RSL is the way to go. Is this the case?

For me Race Texhnologies RE-10.

Not ST rotors good, I run Pagid on those now, but RE-10 are the best pads I’ve ever run for OEM steel rotors.
Last long, pretty clean and quiet and not much taper.

Would ST kit match perfectly my red calipers from my OEM steel brakes setup?
They sure would, the OEM steel calipers just need a hardware kit to accommodate the larger rotors. PM sent to discuss : )

Thanks! Do you have any shop in Munich area to properly do the conversion?

As the least desirable thing is to have coomunication between two parties: supplier of the kit and the installer ))

No problem, happy to help. Munich, very nice! I'm sure we can arrange a shop near you to do the install. The installation is actually very simple and easy to accomplish, any shop that would do a normal brake job on your car should be able to do it with ease.

Remember the VW I.D. R that smashed the Pike's Peak Hillclimb record? Well this weekend it just beat the Goodwood Electric hillclimb record by 3.5 seconds and is going for the overall record next year.

This car is running ST ceramic rotors, and yours can too

Updated pics... Luv these brakes and 250grams lighter than OEM PCCB, per rotor.

Thanks for bringing this thread back to life. Didn't read it til now. I'll be replacing my PCCB's with the ST's once my wallet recovers from being decimated from purchasing the car. May have to wait til next year, and just use the PCCBs for the remainder of the year, about 12 track days

My OEM PCCBs, pads, lines all in boxes, only 500 miles on them... Will use when I gotta send the ST in for refurb, or when, if, I sell her.

To remove each rotor, it is 4 bolts, 2 screws with wear sensor and hydraulic disconnect.
As general info whether you tackle it or not, here is a good video on how they do it
