I kept it under 6k rpm for the first 500 miles then drove it right to the track. Never looked back. I always wait for all fluids to warm up before driving her hard.

Break-in has more to do with heat cycles than mileage. They probably pick 500km as a distance that will give it a couple cycles for the Piston rings to seal properly, etc.

Last thing you want to do is lug the engine at a specific RPM for hours on the highway. Very your speed and do some shorter trips, etc

With that said, I drove my RS straight to the Ring from the factory with a couple stops and ~400 km.

This all sounds very complicated. Can I just give the car to someone to break it in for me?

How concern would people be buying a slightly used GT3 RS with 1,000-2,000 miles? I've always broken in my engines and replaced the oil after a few hundred miles.

Buy the seller. If a good seller, I would have little concern.

In other words, is Marv selling the RS or Mooty?

Mooty owns stock in Griots Garage, so don't listen to him on how to property break in your RS paint job.

Agree with you!
