The idea is that 1st is only used in the pits and the other gears are for "driving". So, 2nd and 3rd (used most often on track or canyon road) are in the same vertical gate and 7th is not outside the pattern. Many people complain about missing gears in the Porsche 7spd manual - this should be less of an issue with the 6 main driving gears being part of the double-H pattern...

I had a dogleg 5spd in my 79 635 CSi and it was great. Early 911 and 928 also had this.

Let me know if you want to get one at MSRP or at least put a deposit on one It's refundable, that's why I did it). I know for fact my guy can get you one at MSRP and you can spec it out anyway you want it (crazy stuff from 'Q' is extra)

MSRP? Are you kidding? MSRP is too much for any new Aston, even limited production. They'll STILL have a hard time selling 100 of these.

Even with only 100 of these 'limited edition' Astons coming to the US, I believe they will be a tough sell, cool though a V12 with dogleg manual may be...
Hah! I owned one of those 3 balboni's. Didn't know they were so rare. That was an awesome car..

They're great cars for people who love the excitement of never knowing if the car will start. At least that was my experience as an owner.

I was seriously considering this car. Now I have second thoughts.

Default Collector's car?

What are your thoughts on this vehicle being a collector's car? With a limited run of 100 in the states and the last available NA V12 manual? Do you think if this car is driven lightly and cared for it will be worth something in 10 years?

I would buy $200k worth of G50 Carreras over an Aston if I had any hopes of making any money.

You gotta realize this is just an outdated 12 year old platform that they shoehorned a manual transmission in. It wasn't even that good 12 years ago… You can't make an average car good just by adding a manual transmission to it.

I personally don't see the point of speculating on cars. Buy and drive what gives you pleasure - there are other avenues to make true investments.

The sales guy who bought my jag from has one coming in if anyone is interested (Galpin Aston in LA). I have to admit that my purchasing experience from this salesman and dealership was second to none!

I think the Aston Martin with the V 12 Manual would be pretty fun on the streets. I think it is a pretty cool looking car and I really like the Grey with yellow accents for the press release car.

But- I can not disagree that it is showing it's age and depreciation will be a killer in this.

My GT4 just hot off the boat and looking forward to having some fun with that

There are a few good videos on this vs the GT3. Pretty much everyone says GT3 is far superior. Duh.
