Seems all the rs steering wheels are with you guys, cost, postage and import charges make it expensive.

Many thanks, Carl
Carl, I can't imagine retrofitting a GT4 wheel with paddles would be very cost effective. The RS wheel is truly plug and play, and the shorter/less resistant throw of the paddles is nice.

Yes it's just me being tight, I sat in an rs the other day and the steering wheel is great.

Would the GT4 wheel be a simple plug and play with say a 997 turbo?

I have that wheel in my Macan and I love it. I am seriously considering doing it to my GT3 now.

I really want to do this as well....but the $4k cost has me thinking twice, three, four.......
If it was $2500 or less it would have been done. Even $3k and I'd likely do it. But at $4k I'm not sure I can justify it...YET!

It's worth it for the crisper PDK levers alone...

I installed the GT3 RS wheel based on the following: I figure when it comes time to sell the car, I can take the wheel off super easily and re-sell it for at least 50-75% of what I bought it for. So the cost of ownership is more like $1k-$2k tops.

I like the RS and GT4 wheels - have owned both. But I LOVE the new wheel on the 991.2 in black with the controls built in, I have not owned so tried over time, just a test drive - but very nice, better than in current GT cars IMO.

Hmmm...didn't think of it like that.

Did you sell your stock wheel?

It's only money, just work harder and earn some more, great mod.

I got my wheel last week.

No, keeping my stock wheel for when I sell the car. Stock wheel has no resale market, while the RS wheel will be very sought after.

Super easy. Just needs the right triple square bit.

Lol. It's not a matter of the availability of funds. For me, It's the ratio of dollars spent to the level of satisfaction I receive from said mod.

And you're right....it's only money...BUT...I've worked/work very hard and have made sacrifices to be able to earn an amazing living and have a comfortable and fortunate life. I value my hard earned dollars.

This all said....I think you may have persuaded me! Though, what sucks is I just sent a $4k check to the Gov't for taxes! F-ers!!!

hello all, hoping you can help.

i bought my 991 Gt3 new and six months later did the steering wheel swop to the rs version with a new airbag, alls been great, took it to the dealer for a service and warranty renewal and they are getting a code fault for the steering wheel, it seems they don’t realise I have changed the wheel and just assume it’s a warranty fault, only issue is I wish I put the standard unit on before going in, has anyone had the similar issue? I don’t want them realising it’s an issue with me and I getting the repair bill.

i never noticed any difference with the wheels etc and all plugs fitted fine, can someone tell me if there are electronics other than the paddles in the steering wheel.

many thanks, Carl
