Default PDK-S On The Steep Hills Of San Francisco

My girlfriend recently moved to SF and she's on one of the steepest hills. Every time I have to stop at at traffic light on a hill, my GT3 won't accelerate normally. It barely moves for what feels like an eternity. I'm wondering if that hill assist feature is on this car. It's extremely disconcerting, and in my opinion, downright dangerous. I am fearful I'll get rear-ended.

Yesterday, after I picked her up, I was explaining the problem, and she asked if I could simply demonstrate instead. So, sure enough, there we were, perched at the top of a very steep hill, right as it is about to crest, waiting for the light to turn. As it does, I press the accelerator harder and harder, barely moving, till suddenly we're doing a burnout. I'm worried this will destroy the clutches.

Anyone else encounter this situation?

If you do a mini brake stand will it engage cleaner?

this doesn't sound like how the hill assist works on my 7MT C2S...

I have not observed that behavior on my 2015 GT3. Are you driving in manual or automatic mode?

Driving it in manual.

There was a car behind me when it happened last. He was fairly close, so I'm sure I would have done as CJ suggested (hold brake till acceleration overcomes the brake hold). Same outcome... but then, I'll have to try it again to be 100% certain.

What RPM does the clutch engage in your cars?

Driving a friend's GT3, the car doesn't move until about 1400rpm. If you're expecting it to move before then, and continue pushing the accelerator pedal, it lurches.. keep light throttle until the clutch starts to engage & it's a smooth pull away. Is this normal or something wrong?

If it has hill access it should just stop on a hill wo touching brake/gas than gas to go forward. Maybe try in automode. Maybe the manual mode deletes the hill assist mode. Mike

Easiest thing to do is let off the brake, within 1-2 seconds the car will release the hill assist, then roll into the throttle like normal.

One option would be to find a new girlfriend.

As far as I know there is no hill assist on our cars. If you stop on a steep hill the car will roll backwards unlike my wife's Boxster where it applies the brakes when you stop on a hill.

Are all your cars named after all your girlfriends?
