Manual Manual without wing (!) PDK-S 3,8l engine 4,0l engine .... Even the "standard" engineers at my department did not know for sure what options they would offer in the end. At one point it was "GT3 standard = Manual w/o wing" and the Clubsport package would include the wing and PDK-S I think they killed the Non-Wing version though, but I wouldn't put my money on it. 4,2l engine what I read somewhere is bogus. Not possible with that engine block "safely". I'd guess that they put the 4,0l engine from the RS with ~490hp (or even the same as RS/R with 500hp) in it. With all these different combos they were testing, that might explains why some of our cleaning ladies's info varies so widely. :) |

Interns at PAG must not be required to sign NDAs? Or is this the cleaning lady dressed as an intern.
Either way, do tell. And don't worry, the Feds are only investigating the diesel side of the house. GT2RS is 650 or more HP GT3 is maybe 3.8 maybe 4.0 maybe with or maybe without a wing GT3 .2 RS dont know shocking news to need an NDA? |
Thank you for the input Tom, some of us appreciate it.

Hey everyone,
I finished an internship at Porsche Motorsport a couple of months ago. Cannot tell a lot but you guys can expect 650+ HP. There will be no GT2, only a RS The Technical Project Leader (the guy below AP) gave the following spec requirement for the engine to "our" engine department: "If I am driving on the Autobahn at 300kph and then hit full throttle, I need to feel a punch in the back". So it should be fun ;) the last few kph need quite a lot of space, with foot pressed to the floor With a big 2RS wing on the back, seems unlikely |

This could explain rosenbergendo's normally very attendable info then. Maybe they started with a 4.0 and then went to 3.8?.. still can't understand how they would make the 991.2 GT3 desirable for upgrade without a power & torque increase from the 991.1 GT3. This is definitely an interesting one. My 2c bet based on info I had received months ago and my own sense of logic is there needs to be a displacement increase.. but some really good quality conflicting info here. Fun data point to find out about come march.

Great info, finally the curtain gets pulled back a bit. Can't wait for Geneva.

If its 3.8 they will hype the manual as the major upgrade, not the 15 hp increase in the 3.8.
