Just curious...

If I go to someone's Youtube channel, and I see how many subscribers a person has, what does that net someone? And if I see that a certain video that has 10 views or 10 million views, what does that net them.

In other words: what does Youtube pay someone for their 'content' whether it be a beginner or a movie studio with a major movie trailer?

I don't have numbers, but my understanding is that it's not much. This is why you see more channels going for low-budget films, but increasing the quantity and frequency of postings.

Spending big $$ on producing a single film doesn't make sense if you rely solely on clicks to recoup the cost. That's why Drive+ costs money, why Chris Harris took donations, and why there are sponsors .

Those harsh words said, he's one of us. A car enthusiast. Someone I'd shake hands with and have coffee with and go on a canyon run or road trip. He loves cars, likely reads this forum and, for those reasons, I'll keep watching and be entertained by his videos.

^Well said. I too like his videos. I guess I'm used to rich arrogant people around me. I would totally hang out with him too.
