They finally answered a few weeks ago the question of where are they made, I believe it is Taiwan or China

Though that doesn't necessarily indicate quality... in fact, for the same cost of manufacturing, it generally means higher quality than fab in the US, unfortunately.

That post on the Corvette forum is from my co-worker Johnny, who used to work for Performance Friction. I've seen the collection of the rotors and hats from other manufacturers where their engineers examine them thoroughly and catalog all the positives and negatives of what's out there.

I don't think it really matters, it's the engineering spec and quality control.

If I had an employee who talked like that about a competitor in a public broadcast, I would fire them. It's not how you do business.

You can have a badly engineered/designed product, that has excellent product quality and consistency. It's still going to fail, consistently.

I think that's the issue here....

AP and brembo are the only brand I would use. Stoptech and Alcon may be? Other brands are junks to me include girodisc.

And what solid evidence do you have for calling the GoroDisc rotors "junk"? Seriously...

Agree. Have been racing girodisc on my 996 GT3 race car for years with great success. They last forever and both the car and I are hard on brakes.

Is this going to turn into a lets rubbish various brands thread? Doesn't look good for anyone.

There are a lot of very good brake manufactures about and you need to consider first poor fitment, treatment and wrong spec's for the use and conditions as possible causes of failure, not just design or QC.

Racing Brake is manufacturing a flawed kit that is supposed to space out the GT3 350mm calipers to use 380mm rotors using a tapered spacer bracket which will put the mounting bolts in tension. Their design is down right dangerous and I've pointed it out in this thread. Word needs to get out before someone gets killed using this garbage.
