One dealer from whom I buy cars suggested to me that there will be a number of 918 taking the car and flipping it for 'silly' markups.

Last day for 918 owners to claim theirs is mar 8th. Any of the 265 cars left over, not claimed, go to very special Porsche customers, this will not happen through the dealers. Dealers get zero allocations in US. #1 spots at a dealer are worthless, double check with your SA if they've told you otherwise.

I can't believe I just posted on this master of all click-bates thread.

Wow, that's in a couple of days only! Quick decision. CAlexio, is that for US? I have heard more like end of the month, March 24--but maybe this is in other markets. Anyone heard otherwise? I've read elsewhere (?RT) too that allocations will be handled by regional distributors and/or Germany, and local dealers will not necessarily be decision makers. Very interesting process. Does anyone know if this is the first time Porsche has allocated cars this way? The limited 50th Edition was not the same, right? What about the Rennsport Reunion GTS's? I'm curious. Thanks in advance.

March 24 is for Canada 918 VIPs.

The ROW market does not have the 918 VIP program. Porsche AG is letting the allocation process at the discretion of each country. This means in some countries, some 918 owners will not be getting a 911R allocation at all.

In this case, I have in front of me the email with the letter to 918 VIP customers stating their options.

Wait, does the PCNA 918 VIP program also include the 918 Canadian owners too? Are these Canadian buyers included in the 300 that were sold or is that just for the US?

Love the last line on your avatar, but you know the rules, need to see some pics.

From what I gather, Canada was not formally included in the PCNA program (and I would think in the US numbers sold). But there is functionally a similar understanding here. I heard the Canadian allocations are in addition to the 260-odd US ones. There are 20-30 Canadian 918 owners iirc, and nearly similar number of 911R allocations are expected.

I wonder if Canadian Michael Wekerle who had his 918 catch fire ever received another one? If he didn't, curious if he still has VIP access to the RS and R?

Quick Reply: I just got an allocation for a 911R at MSRP!
