Value of 991 GT3 if next one is turbo?

Cars are not a good investment. I wouldn't buy a modern Porsche as an investment unless it's a numbered car (think 997 GT2 RS or GT3 RS 4.0) or you're planning to park it in a bubble for 20 years.

Just my opinion but...it sometimes doesn't matter. Enjoy driving the car and forget about what it's worth. Except as a car it's not worth that much. The number of models that ever appreciate is tiny, and the value fluctuates. Much of what we compare against is old and was produced in far smaller numbers and had a greater chance of directly relating to a racing car or, more usually, implanting itself into the imagination of a car enthusiast youth, fermenting over time into a must-have dream machine for the same, far wealthier person decades later. If we are to believe what we are told, the youth of today don't dream of the cars we are enjoying. If so, we aren't likely to see the car market behave as it has since the 80s, and only for very low mileage cars. Better to drive them and enjoy: live the dream.

To the OP: Prices will go to the moon!
I think you're right; top engineers at Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, etc. will make better cars despite potential hurdles in their way.
If that happens will you promise us that you'll quit spamming this forum?
Hard to say. The 991 GT3 crowd is diluted, so I think for everyone that is upset about the N/A engine's demise, there will be two others that are thrilled for the higher performing turbo lump.
Porsche's GT dept has proven time and time again that they know better about what we want than we know ourselves. No matter what they come up with, we will all drool, and we will all buy.
And if you say you won't, you'll just be like the guys claiming rear wheel steering as the downfall of the GT line a few years ago, only to pay over MSRP to get one.

Next GT3 will not be a turbo. It will stay NA until FIA mandates turbo engines for motorsport applications (it's coming). Then Porsche will have an excuse to build only forced induction motors.
My bigger concern would be value past warranty period due to engine reliability.

but the 9A1 991.1.2.x GT3 /RS platform is already the last 911 GT3 NA platform
so regardless the next Turbo
991.1 GT3 wlll go higher n higher especially when
992 in 2019 will be launched (3 years)
an eventual 991.2 NA GT whatever won t change this fact
but only enhance the whole dynamic
all these eventual .2NA would go sold before the first delivered
so 991.1 GT3 /RS will stay over MSRP
Instant classic isn t it?

I think it is getting harder to buy that the next GT-3 version will be NA.
It's a game of numbers, both on track, acceleration times and MPG.
I just can't see them competing with other manufacturers who have nearly all gone turbo without going turbo themselves.
So does this help the current NA 991 GT3 value going forward or hurt it?

if the 991.2 (or 992) GT´s will be turbo --> they will demolish the current ones on the track in terms of laptimes.
if than (like alan said) the supply will be better like the current ones. i do no see huge steps in pricing. it will stay like it is now i guess.

Regular 458 is equivalent to a regula 991 or less in Ferrari world
the 458 Speciale is comparable to a 991 GT3/RS 9A1
458 Speciale price IS much higher than 488
esp after 488 launched
991.2 GT3 Turbo?
991.1 price will shoot higher immediatly
any 991.2 GT3 NA? All sold before 1st car delivered = 991.1 GT3 firm until 992 launch in 2019 and then higher
The 991 GT3 value is not the question
but is the 991 GT3 the only 911 9k rpm ever ?
Look the history of 50 years 911 NA
Max rpm ever 991.1 GT3
Max piston speed = for 991.1 GT3 and 991.1 RS
Max HP/Liter = for 991.1 GT3 and 991.1 RS and 997 RS 4.0
regardless .2 NA in few years lets say 2025 you ll want to buy
one of the above better packing money today
