NASA in west coast seems to be less popular than East coast. It is very crowded and not much track time as they mix DE group and race group. Again, very crowded.
POC/PCA SD are well organized. I would start with them first. Speed venture is getting a little wild and getting more crowded. Speed distict i like because so much track time (basically once an hour for 20 min session). AVOID extreme disaster speed event group at all cost. I wouldnt go even if it was free.
Norcal - SpeedSF (no experience), NCRC (lots of events), Hooked on Driving, PCA GGR (very well organized and safe) - these guys do event in Buttonwillow couple times a year.
Other than that, lookout for private days people post on here. Great way to meet car nuts and spend time at the track with.
