If you aren't hooning the car then maybe a patch, but my guess is no tire store will do the repair for you. I had a very similar issue on my R8GT while on a road trip and no one would touch it and it was three days to get a replacement tire. I ended up plugging it myself and driving a 1000 miles back to Houston, where I put a new tire on.

 

I get those all the time, for a street car I just plug it.

Patch it as it is not on the sidewall.

 

A reputable shop will refuse to repair it - the puncture is too close to the sidewall.

 

Asking obvious question. Is it leaking? You remove the screw?

Proper repair is pull tire and do a patch that has a plug on it from the inside. These are fine.

However that screw looks a little close to the sidewall as serge mentioned.

 

if track change it...The risk is so big for you and your car...Road no problem but for track another story.

Had very similar, it actually was a short screw that did not puncture, only went into tread.

 

If nail dead center would patch and run it on track. If closer to sides problem is if you track and lower tire pressures patch mite peel off(been there done that). If street only I patch it. Mike
