So we were in Chicago earlier this year and my daughter tells me that one of her guy friends was going to take her out sailing. He picked her up while we were shopping at a store, so I didn't get a look at him or the car. She texts me and says it is really fast (oh God, she is driving with a maniac) and I'd like it. I asked what kind of car it was, but she didn't know. He drops her off and I am sitting at a restaurant about a block away.

He pulls up in a GT3 RS 4.0.

He is at the stop light right in front of me when the light turns green, and he guns it. What a fast, very cool car. Perfection in my book! Of course, my daughter tells me it was a wild ride, and she couldn't figure out how to open the door. Turns out he's a professional driver (not going to name him), and in fact races a Porsche. That made the "wild ride" comment go down a little easier (but she's my daughter!), but I was still glad the ride was over.

I would be lying if I said that one moment didn't help put me on a path to my own GT3. At least she got to ride in an amazing car, with a pro at the wheel, doing some REALLY questionable driving on the streets of Chicago.

As a concerned father, my comment to her was simple. Next time, I want to go!

Hmmm... what pro driver, driving a Porsche, is single (at least I hope so!), living in or near Chicago? Madison Snow, perhaps?

Oh, he is still interested. But my daughter thinks he is too full of himself, so she has been ignoring his advances for over a year. But who knows, they could be made for each other. LOL

I stay out of these things.
