Feeler - Exhaust with remote valve controller
I am in discussions with a large exhaust manufacturer that may want to enter the GT3 market. I am working to conceptualize our “dream exhaust” – one that keeps the valves and also allows for total control over them via a wireless remote that could potentially also be programmed to the homelink buttons. The exhaust would function as stock, but would allow you to permanently close or open the valves as well if you choose – close them to keep it quiet around town or at a noise restrited track, open when you are feeling a little feisty. Curious if this is a worthwhile endeavor. Thoughts? input? Ideas? This may be a chance to get exactly what we want!
Thanks.

Something like this may already exist if you know the fuse that controls the valve. I think Southern Car Parts sells something that could work if that's the case. On my Aston it was a single fuse that, if pulled, left the flaps open.

They had an "exhaust commander" for the C6 Z06 that I owned years ago that did just this. Used a small wireless remote that I left in the center arm rest. Worked very well and I liked it a lot.

The plan is to integrate this switching capability into an exhaust. At this point I'm just wondering what people see as the deficiencies with current exhausts. Clearly more control over the valves would be a very good thing.

Sean, Control over the valves at ANY rpm's is the key. Maybe even being able to "partially" opened or closed so that sound could be managed to whatever level wanted or needed. Best, Allan

I just put on frequency intelligent exhaust. The remove valve is great! Now I can sneak out of my apartment building early mornings without complaints but also able to have the real race car sound! Price isnt bad either.

Not interested.

What about not creating another exhaust system, but design something like the exhaustmeister.com, where it plugs into the existing wiring and allows you to control the valves. This way we can add it to any exhaust system using the valves.

Besides Carnewal (which I have 2 setups and work flawless) this idea has even been DIY engineered with arduino and GPS to modulate the sound while on the track, automatically closing while passing the sound booth.

This would be ideal.. I would be real interested. I want it to work as normal, open all the time, and partially open for track events.

Capristo makes a remote for the Ferrari 458. I would love to see them produce a product like this for the Gt3. We should contact them
