991.2 GT2/GT2RS

I don't know if you guys have seen this rendering before but I have to say its not bad, they almost got the Daylight LED right and they have the rear end from the GT3RS and to my eyes it doesn't look half bad.

Btw I would like to apologize I don't know how to respond and post multiple posts in one, if that makes any sense.

FWIW, I'd like to see a derivative of the 918... without 4WD and with no electric motors... priced to compete with the 675 and 488. I might hold off on my 675 spider order if they announced something like that.

Well the 960 has been rumored since the 918 Spyder, but unfortunately we haven't seen any mules or prototypes and no one from Porsche is confirming its existence. A dirivative of the V8 used in the 918 to make more power, same monocoque structure to keep things lightweight and rwd would be awesome but its all speculation. Wonder if 918 owners would feel cheated if Porsche came out with such a thing.

The more I think of it, the more I realize that Porsche shouldn't build a GT2, or maybe use the GT2 name on the 960, it makes much more sense. Since the Turbo's acceleration and top speed are almost the same[and sometimes better] than a 2-wheel drive lightened version of the same car(the GT2) and the GT3/RS would be close in terms of lap times. They should reuse the GT2 name for a 488/675 fighter than can be lighter than a 911 and have better handling characteristics; basically a funner car to drive.
What do you guys think?

I was hoping a lot of carbon and magnesium would equate to less than 1,400kg and more than 670hp but would that step on the toes of the 960? Actually that makes more sense to call the turbocharged GT3 a GT2 as you said but I dont get why the would call the 960 "818"?

"Preuninger confirmed that a new GT2 RS would be built but said it would not be for the existing series of the 911. Instead, it will come at the end of the life of the Gen 2 car, probably in 2018.
The previous 997-based GT2 RS offered 611bhp in a package weighing just 1370kg and is widely regarded as the most extreme 911 ever to goon general sale."
