I like the hangar doors but I would not be able to pass code. As it is, legally here a garage should have no more than 3 facing doors and park only 3 cars. I could start a new thread on the number of fights we have had with my township and $$$delays they have caused me.
My architect was great in the beginning, but now I wish he was in my foundation
So far in dealing with my local authorities, the battles have been about building setbacks from the lake, and a 'required' upgrade to the size of the septic holding tanks and fields. The 45' horizontal setback from the Lake is just plain stupid in my case. The new home will sit on a solid bedrock bluff some 25' above the 100 year flood level. For that place to flood there would be entire villages around the lake under water. The local building inspector is actually a good guy, he signed off on my Hanger a few years back with no issues. It is his bosses in the Planning office who are the jerks. I discussed the setback with the inspector, and even he agreed with me, but unfortunately its his bosses who hold the big sticks. Time will tell.
What are the budgets for some of these garages? I realize they vary greatly but trying to get a rough estimate as we're beginning to plan our next home in Seattle.
If you need cabinets, tools etc I have a great supplier.
You're on your own for lifts and floors but since some of this stuff is dealership level I can say candidly you are looking at 20k to 300k+ for what some of these guys have going.
The real question is: how much space do you have ? Both in sq ft and vertical room? Stacking is very cheap as buying 2-3 cars worth of SQ ft of seattle dirt is probably 500+ a foot by itself.
I recently redid my 4 car warehouse- new bathroom, new epoxy (not going to put tile in a rental) and some fixtures, repaint walls, insulate roof update, light update- 30k. And that's the family discount since he's my uncle.
A good cabinet/ tool set is from 4-30k depending on how gnarly you want to go.
Flooring (ceramic tiles) can be 20-40k
Lifts are actually not that expensive but seattle is seismic and you will need permits
Hi Guys, Just thought Id share, I did a combo of epoxy and VCT .. Built Most of it myself and Yes there is a TV facing the lift, all hooked up to surround sound..
Table, Tv in wall, facing Lift. (on the other side is the office area)
I like the custom table top, where did you get the logos! I want to build a new bar height bistro type table for my Hangers kitchen area and doing what you did would work well for me. BTW nice garage space, I like the two post lift.
The Logos came from a Vinyl Shop across the street from where I work. I imagine any place like that could get you those. I just downloaded the art off the Net. After I applied them I put a clearcoat over the entire table.

That sounds pretty easy, I'll give it a go and see what I end up with.
Joker...please remind me...what is the floor composition again please? It looks awesome! I am pretty sure I am going polished/industrial, but your floor makes me rethink about things...
