Had the pleasure to be at the ring as well, the new 718 GT4 had his VLN debut. Fog in the morning was quite relaxing as I was al little bit late so could enjoy the athmosphere. VLN is such a great event.

Been at the Ring since yesterday: Did 4 wet laps yesterday in the 997 Gt3 and 9 moist ones this evening. 8 under 8.

Tomorrow it is race day: RCN1 :-)
Driving BMW M3 E46 in RCN opposed to the BMW E90 325 in VLN.
Looking forward to drive a slightly more powerful car :-)

Did some laps with my codriver in his 991.2 GT3 manual, here's the fastest.

It was a bit moist and light drizzle in randomly selected corners.

The RCN1 race took place during a nice medium cold weather.

157 cars started. How many actually finished I don't know.

My co-driver took first stint and unfortunately our time keeping equipment didn't work so he missed the confirmation time with 9 seconds which givs a penalty of 90 seconds added to the race.
We changed drivers and I went out on my outlap and after maybe 60s of driving the race was red flagged and as it turned out later just postponed.

There was a big crash in Flugplatz - 5 cars tangled up in a mess created by an exploded engine (guessing). No personal injuries.

What happened was that I had to drive the complete track at 60-80kph waving thanks and goodbye to the marshals as I firmly believed that it was game over for the race.

We lined up from T13. Had to sit in the car for more then an hour not sure what was going to happen. Finally we had a restart and I could drive my 8 laps as planned.
First lap was chaos: Marshals along the track flagged Yellows, Reds and no Greens as I drove: They clearly didn't know what was going on: Probably some of them thought that we where on a formation lap. I don't know but it was extremely frustrating.

In the end we where 4th in class in a very messy race with much yellows and Code 60's.

It was the first time in 20 years a RCN race has been Red flagged.

Waiting for the restart. A long line of cars.

Our oldie still can jump

I met up with Seb74 at the Turist driving on Sunday who introduced me to a good friend of him who drives a Performante.

His friend was unfortunately in an accident some years ago which has put him in a wheel chair.

He offered me a ride with him in his hand controlled car and of course I joined him.

First time for me in a Lamborghini and I must say that it was a nice experience.
Unfortunately the headroom is a bit restrictive. I fit perfectly with helmet if try to compress my upper body a bit

Nevertheless it was very interesting experiencing this amazing guys performance.
It was weird when he reached out with his right hand to brake and my brain expected a shift everytime
Trail braking is tough as he must do it with just one hand on the steering wheel.

After he dropped me off we drove two laps together. The fastest on a 7.53 with a lot of traffic.
Very fun indeed

A good end to a mixed weekend.

Nice car

Accelerator is the ring on the wheel. Brake is the lever on the right which is attached to the brake pedal.

Someone is just about the be overtaken.

What a coincidence there is a green performante at Spa with a hand control driver.
In Florida as well with a 991 GT3RS

Some situation it is favorable with the hand controls: Like overlapping with gas and braking.

I find it fascinating: If I get into the same situation I hope I don't give up but fight and enjoy the rest of my life as these guys do.

This was discovered in time... this time. The two tires before this one delaminated very well at approx 270kph.
You need new fender liners when that happens.

I guess it is time to reduce the rear camber some.

Very lucky catch.
