Race car,not street legal. Do they ever offer an optional gearbox on a race car? They don't. So why " PDK only " ? Could it have been 1 optional gearbox?

So, in the GT4, we now have the only road going GT with a race engine!

It's just a detuned Carrera S 3.8 9A1 engine. Nothing special, just parts bin special. It's not true dry sump, just integrated sump. Should offer a decent race entry level car.

Track only, should be interesting to see the cost. Nice turn-key if cost effective.

In the GT4 forum, this and several other assertions made here have been clarified and discussed.

They are too scared that a PDK GT4 will stop on the toes of the GT3, hence why they did it track only.

dont be so sure. porsche doesn't always publish things. example 4.0 is way more different than 3.8 then PAG ever published.

i have heard that GT4 is dry sump (reworked). but i haven't seen it in person yet. so i am curious.

Lots of series have 400 hp as a limit, the next common limit is around 500, so it would be stuck running a restrictor.

IMO, the car will be fun - it's basically what I built last year with less aero. Will be interesting to see the final price.

Mooty,I can't even come close to your Porsche knowledge, but unfortunately the engine in the GT4 is not a true dry sump. Perhaps they will rework it for the race car to support higher lateral Gs and the use of slicks.

Had zero issues in my car on slicks (Pirellis) running hard 40 minute sessions every hour. The car runs a little on the hot side, but no more so than a 991 GT3.
