Carbon fiber, just like other car manufacturers do. Also, all of the proposed engines would be heavier than the current one, so even staying in the same weight group but adding power would require carbon fiber.

I voted for the NA V8, but if there was a choice I'd have selected NA Flat-8. As for weight loss, easiest way to do that is to make the chassis smaller. I'd love to see a return to 997 or 993 (better yet) size.

intriguing that GT3 with the 4.4L is winning so far
considering the improved torque it would really be the squaring of the circle

That would be amazing. A modern lightweight 993RS with MT option and modern aero and 991rs engine. 2800 pounds!

A "Cup" lightweight version of the current .1 RS is rumored
(no DD oriented)
and , most likely, the lighter (than 991 GT3) 991R, slippery sauce, without RWS without PDK (997 market..) , 19",
smaller C2 body size, GT3 engine (hopefully) should meet the under 3000lbs with manual fun and involving expectations and not too difficult profitwise for PAG to build it
(no track oriented)
but to combine track DD and Safety capabilties, a carbon tub is really probable in next 992

So far more than 100 votes!
Majority of Porsche enthusiasts
voted to keep the NA flat-6 or V8 with sufficient enhanced
power and torque upgrade
If by force mpg and emission will need to drive the design
of ours next 99x GT3
interesting to note that is still a NA hybrid or kers
over any Turbo the buyers preferred way to go
Keep Voting they listen!

I would be happy with the 991.2 with a Manual and a weight reduction of 200 lbs. An increase of torque by 25 would suffice. The weight reduction would compensate for no HP gain. Keep the 9000 rpm.
I do not think that I am far off with the suggested above. I am looking for Purity.
Now- if I could dream up my car it would be a 991R. Not a track car but a street car. Give me the Carrera body( not wide body), 19 inch wheels, about 460 hp, 8400 redline and a weight around 2700

One word "emissions", with that said this poll is a pipe dream. With the EPA/ARB regulations increasing year after year and unless these GT cars are puffing out flower petals they will have to skew towards turbo or hybrid versions within 5-10years.

As far as the poll goes, make it a NA flat 6 for ever. MT or PDK-S is fine well, MT on RS variants at least. A previous RL member mentioned a 991R mine would be a 991.2/911-GT: Wide body, rear-steer, 325 series rear rubber, MPSC2, cage, no sunroof option, GT3 suspension, regular spoiler (extended sport angle), rear seat delete, MT.

i voted for it but i don't think a flat 6 bored out to 4.4 l and 560 hp is realistic
i think pag is close to their limit how much more hp they get out of the flat 6 architecture
current 500 hp and less weight would be very nice but reducing weight is very very expensive to accomplish i think

Losing weight would help emissions a lot. The flat-8 would be my choice over the turbo or hybrids. Seeing as how they would probably never do that, and the flat six is really at such a crazy HP/Liter development it is hard to see more than 10-15% gains on the flat six.
A stroker 4.0 8 cylinder would make pretty incredible HP (570) and keep the NA Vibe while not weighing any more than a 4.0L mezger.
So, a true two seater architecture with a 570hp version of the 918 engine is my choice.
