The car is amazing imo. Most exiting and original new car I've driven in years. It wasn't anywhere on my radar before I bought one. I haven't owned an mb since 2001. I got a shot at one of first couple delivered to Houston when the original buyer backed out; I took it and have never looked back. I planned to sell it back at end of summer but it's a keeper for me. Nothing else on the market like it right now. Great combo of performance, dd, unique style/originality. It stays unbelievable composed for a front engine, rwd car with that much torque. Exhaust note makes every new 991 blush.
I'm still a Porsche guy at heart but MB nailed this one.

I agree with your point, though if a person didn't get a 1GT3 allocation at this point, he either wasn't trying to find one or was extremely late to the party.

I've driven them extensively on track (COTA for three days and the Thermal Club). I've also driven it around Palm Springs.
Great car. Fastest Mercedes transmission ever, tail happy, good amount of power. It's not as sharp or aggressive as the GT3. I wouldn't trade my GT3 for it. But, if I were looking for a comfortable cruiser that can do some double track duty, I'd do it.
