Default IPE / Fi exhaust

Ok, so I think there were some negative issues thrown about with the IPE and Fi brands before. But it seems part of the reason was due to the construction of these system from a Taiwanese manufacturer.

Aside from that, were there any concerns? I seem to vaguely recall the mention of the loss of torque based on IPE's dyno chart?

In any case has anyone installed either of these brands on their GT3s?

There are a few around that have been installed. I've heard it in person. It does sound good. I was going to get one, but the valves operate just like stock unless you want to have a key chain remote. They have been shady on the forums, creating fake screen names with links to their videos and website. I don't think anyone has actually done an independent dyno, but their published plot shows a ridiculous loss in power.

Matt,

Wow, what's up with that torque curve?

Im surprised that as an exhaust manufacturer they would allow that to go to market. Unless their ultimate goal is sound at the expense of performance.

IPSE,

Has there been incidences resulting from poor construction? I wasn't aware nor have I seen anything mentioned on the web.

The torque line must have something wrong in it.. Something is off.

This is bad… why would want to install and spend $$$ then you're gonna lose power/torque?! Did GMG or SW did a dyno run with their GT3? Any improvements?

At first I was thinking about the IPE because of the sound… but after what I heard and this dyno chart, no way!

Default IPE / Fi exhaust

Interesting though, that despite their other shenanigans, these guys are willing to post their dyno--and a negative one at that!! I wish some other manufacturers would be so forthright. Whenever one of them says their power is pretty identical to stock, didn't they have to do a dyno to know that? And if so, why can't we see it?

Maybe it has the same result that's why it's better that they don't post it lol!

Talk to installers who have worked with iPE products (either for Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, etc.). They will tell you. PM me if you want details, I'd really not air others dirty laundry without reason to.

It's why you can get such a good rate on iPE products generally.

It's also why just about no authorized dealers will give a discount on Akra products.

I had one of their shady posters PM me a while back. The justification for the insane drop in low end torque was due to bad gas in Taiwan. I find it hard to believe the dip is that bad in real life, but I'm unwilling to spend $3,500 to find out. If they want to send me one, I'll test it for them.

My friend has a system on his but never put it on the dyno. I can ask him to but also need a stock car to compare to since there is not a baseline. It sounds really good in a loud way but not obnoxious.
