There were no shortage of issues with the Mezger engines, and they raced the living hell out of those motors. I'm talking stupid **** like a lose bolt on an intake flap detonating motors, bolts backing out on timing actuators, coolant lines, weak clutches.....
If you are expecting corolla-like quality and durability.....you have bought the wrong vehicle. I can't think of a high performance vehicle that has not had some sort of issue. The true test will be how Porsche handles this with Customers. So far, I have been treated well, so I'm not worried.

As for the 997.2 RS, it wasn't Porsche who raced it. It was a Swedish Porsche dealership. Not a works effort - very much a private affair.
The 991RS engine is going into the new 991-GT3-R. I think first race may be Dubai 24h, which is not an easy race for engines by any means. So lets see.

A swedish dealership have done something very similar but Porsche together with Sport Auto did it too:
"In a partnership between Porsche and German magazine Sport Auto, racing drivers Roland Asch and Patrick Simon were joined by writers Chris Harris and Horst von Saurma behind the wheel of the car."

The PR dept. monitors all sorts of these things. All these companies have people monitoring online and social media coverage. I'm sure Rennlist is one of them.
Make a copy of any videos next time. They have a habit of disappearing.
Nobody knows the issue here. Having videos floating around having people "assume" this or that isn't good PR either. Obviously their track record with the engines isn't flawless either

Sorry guys but not the new motor. And 2016 Cup is already confirmed to use the "old" motor again.
2016 GT3R is coming with a new powerplant and we await a closer examination to judge similarity to the street motor, not to mention results.....

The only folks running MA1s in motorsports (at least in the states) are Caymans....so ironically the Cayman GTS has more motorsports ties to its chassis and motor than the GT3 does right now. In time that will change and hopefully we'll see GT3 road-car and race car ties once again.
