Funny, I had guys bugging me for over two years to buy my RS before i finally threw in the towel and let it go. Whether it had a lift or not never, and I mean never, entered the conversation. Maybe the difference between RS vs GT3 buyers.

If you need it to get in or out of a particularly obnoxious driveway or parking lot then you need it. But don't kid yourself that having it will keep you from scraping the front. It won't.

Good luck with your search.

What shocked me was why didn't PAG make the lift raise higher. If I'm going to spend that money it should at least lift 2" - 3" ?

I need mine as the slope into the garage would make it catch without, I also like the hiss it makes when you turn it off.

I do not have the lift. What I negotiated for the car I had the dealer include at no cost to me 2 spare lips. No scrapes yet, I am careful. Last week I looked at a GT3 with a lift and sure enough it had been scraped many times. However if I had to do it again for resale purposes I would get it. PS if you live where I do it will do no good for road kill.

Default Can I do without the front axle lift option

It's not about the size of your life, it's how you use it

One thing to keep in mind - it's not just the lip that is at risk; it's also the underlying structure of clips, brackets, fender liners, etc. that tie the whole front end together.

Since I don't own a GT3 yet, I can't comment on how the front end is all tied together. I do know on a Z and a Corvette that a strong enough scrape/hit on the front end has a domino effect through the pieces mentioned above. I had the privilege of purchasing those bits twice on my Nismo.

I envy those that don't require the lift. Smooth, level roads with shallow driveway approach angles are something I miss since moving to Houston.

So true...thats one thing my Huracan kicks *** with...it lifts a good 3 inches (which makes a HUGE difference). When I need it (rarely) at least I know I've got the big guns so to speak as far as its ability. The GT3's is barely anything (angle or otherwise).

I think it really depends on where u live. I have not needed a lift yet with over 5 mo and 2k mi on my car. Just have to enter/Exit driveways at a 45 degree angle

^ this.

My .2 gt3 didn't have the lift either. Many inquires, buyers never asked. Sold at a premium as well. Drove in three states. I did not spec my 991 3 with it either. I have found I still do not need it. Speed bumps, speed humps, relatively steep drive. No problem. Yes, some scenarios one will likely need it. I have not found that scenario.

After I read these posts I start to question whether I should purchase the car without the lift. I hope to test drive the car tomorrow. I'll see whether i can live without it and make a decision from there.

I've never owned a GT3 but I have driven one which convinced me to buy a GT3.

Thanks again for all the input and opinions on this issue. i did not realize it was a hot topic.
