I wonder how many % of current 991 GT3 owners will trade to get the new 991.2 GT3. I already sold my 2014 GT3 for pretty good money. Put 3 deposits with 3 different dealers for the 991.2 GT3.

Or a 959 before 2010. It was within reach for a long time but like with many other collector cars the market bye in large rose very quickly after the USA was recovering from the Housing Bubble. So instead of putting one's money into high risk investments it seems some decided to give the collector car market a chance. And for some cars and their owner's the risk has been paying off. Yet one cannot realize a positive bottom line until they sell the car. And if it is a big return on assets watchout for the Capital Gains during tax season! Some of these cars have tripped in value.

Quite a few, especially with a manual.

As an enthusiasts who has raced a 997.2 GT3 in time trials I can tell you that I would never go back to a manual if I didn't need to. A big attraction to me was the PDK in the 991 GT3. So to assume all enthusiates will dump their GT3's the moment a manual GT3 is available again is a bad assumption. Look at the take rate for manuals in other performance cars like the M3/4 and the Corvette, it is still around only 20% to 25%. In the standard 911 it's around 17%. The market is speaking, manuals will be around, but in increasingly smaller numbers. Meanwhile the 991 GT3 will attract a wide interest among enthusiates. I see prices dropping to earth with the new model, but not because of the manual- just because it's no longer the shiny new penny.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Also, why are all your threads around pricing?
