I think the HD-9 may be a great choice as well. I am getting it because it is wider; same as the 7W but with more capacity. The 7(W) does lift higher than the 9, however, not something I need. IIRCC, the 7W and 9 are 11.5-12" wider than the 7 post to post.

One benefit to both is you can change the ramp widths from narrow to wide to accommodate wider cars on top and have more space beneath of course. No extra parts, you just adjust the ramps. Cost is basically the same as well. Another added benefit is the 9 can handle more weight. A consideration even if you do not intend to park a heavy vehicle atop, because it will accommodate rolling jacks if you choose later. The jacks are expensive but really nice. They will allow your to lift you car off its tires while on the raised lift. Certainly something to consider in lieu of floor jack(s) and jack-point stands or flavor of choice

I'd go 9 except I want to be able to raise the lift all the way up with no car on it and walk underneath it. The 9 doesn't go high enough to do that.

The 7W offers an additional 10 inches of width to fit cars with a wider wheel base. It also offers the max rise of 82 inches like the 7P so you can walk under each. I needed a narrow footprint to fit in the single bay side of my 3 car garage, so for me the 7P was the way to go. If you have room to fit the additional 10 inches in your garage, you want to walk under it, and you are ok with a 7000 lb max, get the 7W. If I had a larger single bay, I would have opted for the 7W.

I'm modeling "fit". Next up is top down view to see if I can get two of these lifts in my garage. Maybe one 7P and one 7W.

Here's a "comfortable" view with 996 GT3 Cup over 991 GT3. Then there's the "its going to be tight" with 964 Cup over 330i BMW. Part of the limitation is where the lift locks.

All to scale, including garage door (thing in upper left is my loft).

Another consideration. Ditch the yellow ramps. I ordered the removable aluminum ramps and added some race Ramps to change the angle. I did not want the steel ramps hanging of the end and someone (me) hitting my head.

Yeah, I was hoping those were removable.

Do you need a longer ramp (for clearance with the gt3) than 36", which I believe are standard with the lift? I understand BP offers 48" as well. Like the Race Ramp idea.

I ordered the 48" aluminums. My black hd9 is at the terminal and picking it up monday. Installing monday after work. I'll post pics of lift/ ramps once setup. I have 116" total ceiling clearance.

I will measure the aluminum ramps I bought from BP as I'm not certain what I have. I did have to add the race ramps (rr-rack-4) as my GT3 would not clear even with the axle lift in the up position.

The Race Ramps work in lieu of the aluminum ramps, correct? It appears they are only 28" long. Good to hear the front clears, although I am surprised. So glad I have the chance to check out your lift. Much appreciated.

Edit: I see now after reviewing the RR site. They work in conjunction with the aluminum lift ramps. I also now see the cutout in the RRs.

So it may be a waste for me to spend $3xx on the 48" aluminum when I'll need the 28" RRs anyway. I would think the standard 36" and additional 28" would work. I do not have the lift however.
