Be careful how loud you say that. You might anger them.

I think the Mezger is now up to the same number as the 9a1. How many competitive wins does the 9a1 have?

I'm wondering if they're secretly running 9a1s...

Just hold that thought until next season.

Terrible for Porsche to see their car ON FIRE so early while plenty of...Ferrari's, Vettes and (sigh) Aston Martin's running around them.

True, in the grand scheme of things. We are a Porsche family, but a little brotherly ribbing wouldn't hurt

Ferrari, Aston, Corvette all gone!

Patrick Long is still doing fine (5 pm PT)...he just did a triple stint on his #77 Proton Dempsey 991 RSR in GTE-Am! They are currently running in 3rd place behind the Aston Martin #98 and the Ferrari 458 #72.

Notice the interesting air flow dynamics on the front hood of these two RSRs:

I was present at the 2011 race at Circuit de la Sarthe and saw Patrick race the older 997 RSR for Flying Lizard!

LeMans is a unique racing event which I recommend to each & everyone of you. Hope you have a chance to experience at least once in your lifetime!

Eduardo

I love watching Patrick Long drive. Having met him he is a very real person. I feel for him with Porsche assigning him to the GTE AM Dempsey team. He is burning trips to LeMans with a showboat team...

Yes LeMans is a bucket list/right of passage experience. I did it with teams for 10 years in a row there and miss it dearly - don't miss the hard 40-hour race day, BUT would do it again in a blink!!

He had a really nice drive vs. the Ferraris with about 4 hours to go today. Patrick rocks! 2nd place in class, the guy is a winner.

Um, no. Far more Mezger motors have cooked themselves over the years.

Good thing is was a Mezger, had it been a 9A1 motor this thread would already be 6 pages and bump 997 GT3 prices up another 20%.
