I re-measured the 2 steering wheels.

I re-measured the 2 steering wheels.
3mph the specs you quoted are correct for the diameter.
RS 360mm & GT3 370mm.
However the measurements I took on the circumference of the thumb grip position of the rim stand RS 95mm & GT3 100mm.
My view on the style is of course subjective but I don't like the black plastic finish.
I think it looks cheap compared to the GT3 or Macan (other models) wheel that have the multi-function controls and chrome details.
Not a swap I would contemplate having now had a chance to see and feel the wheel even if the cost were reasonable.

"Exclusive" Porsche dealership could get Lava Orange seat belts from RS, but a big NO on the RS wheel.
Lava Orange belts "special request" in standard GT3.........$2,470.00!
Imagine what the SSR-RS "Super Special Request" RS Wheel asking price would be? Ha!
No thanks on both.
Best be careful with Chris Harris and the power of his words.
Standard Wheel is fantastic.
Would they do orange stitching too?

My dealer has also been researching whether it's possible to swap a RS or other MY16 spec wheel into the GT3. Personally I really like the multifunction capabilities and as my other daily drivers are P cars, it's annoying to not have the functions in the same places.

I'll hopefully get an update this week!

This is what I got back from my dealer tech friend:

Hi, I've been told that the installing a multi function wheel on a car that did not have it originally, will not work.

This implies the GT3 wouldn't enable any multifunction capabilities on the wheel, though it sounds a bit strange. Has anyone else gotten a better answer? The alternative is to use the GT3RS wheel, basically the MY16 design but without multifunction.

Once again don't listen to dealership or techs....yes there are many good ones but as I stated often before, they aren't the ones to ask about a mod like this. They are worried about liability, guessing as to compatibility because it's not ok'd from Porsche or are passing info from tech center that would say it's not possible. It's an expensive change but possible, others will post soon proving it will work. Also what "multi function" do you lose with RS wheel on GT3? I guess you're referring to Macan wheel?

The new 911 configurator seems to show the RS wheel?

Interesting although GT3 still shows the old wheel. I would imagine the RS wheel would work (no MF features.) Somebody has done it. Eager to learn how.

The 991.2 has a sport dial button on the lower right of the wheel and has multifunction controls. But it's similar design of the RS/Macan/918 wheels.

How about we all pitch in $50 each to fund the "figure out how to retrofit the RS wheel + airbag to a GT3" campaign so we can buy one and try it on one of our cars?
